Terms of Service
Effective date: September 1, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("Participant," "you," or "your") and Basecamp Ops LLC ("Basecamp Ops," "we," "us," or "our"), a Colorado limited liability company. By enrolling in any course, accessing our lab environments, or using our services in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not enroll or use our services.
1. Scope
Basecamp Ops LLC provides professional development courses, training programs, and educational lab environments for system administrators and IT operations professionals. These Terms apply to all interactions between you and Basecamp Ops, including but not limited to enrollment, participation in cohort-based courses, access to lab infrastructure, use of course materials, and any communications related to our services.
These Terms do not govern any relationship between you and your employer, nor do they create any employment or contractor relationship between you and Basecamp Ops. Our instructors are independent practitioners who deliver training under their own expertise and judgment.
2. Service Description
When you enroll in a Basecamp Ops course, you receive access to the following:
- Instructor-led training sessions — live, scheduled sessions conducted by active practitioners with real-world operations experience. Sessions are delivered remotely via video conferencing.
- Access to lab environments — browser-based access to purpose-built server environments designed to replicate real-world infrastructure scenarios. Lab access remains active for the duration of your cohort plus 30 calendar days after the cohort ends.
- Course materials — written guides, reference documents, configuration examples, and supplementary readings provided in digital format for the duration of your enrollment.
- Capstone project support — guidance, feedback, and review from instructors as you complete a hands-on capstone project that demonstrates applied knowledge.
- Completion certificates — upon successful completion of a course track and its capstone project, you receive a certificate of completion issued by Basecamp Ops LLC. This certificate is not a vendor certification and does not represent accreditation by any external body.
Cohort sizes are limited to ensure meaningful instructor interaction. Specific cohort dates, schedules, and session formats are communicated at the time of enrollment and may be adjusted with reasonable advance notice.
3. User Obligations
As a participant, you agree to the following:
- You will use lab environments solely for course-related activities. Labs are provisioned for educational purposes, and any use outside this scope is prohibited.
- You will not share your login credentials, lab access tokens, or session links with any third party. Each set of credentials is issued to a single participant and is non-transferable.
- You will not attempt to access systems, networks, or data outside the defined lab scope. This includes probing, scanning, or attempting to escalate privileges beyond what the lab exercise requires.
- You will not record, redistribute, or publicly share live training sessions, instructor presentations, or course materials without prior written permission from Basecamp Ops.
- You will treat fellow participants, instructors, and staff with professional respect in all communications, whether during live sessions, in group channels, or via email.
Violation of these obligations may result in immediate suspension of your access without refund, at the sole discretion of Basecamp Ops.
4. Intellectual Property
Basecamp Ops LLC owns all rights, title, and interest in its course materials, curriculum structure, lab configurations, training methodologies, written content, and branding. These materials are protected by copyright and other applicable laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from any Basecamp Ops materials without our express written consent.
You retain full ownership of your capstone projects, original code, documentation, and any other original work you produce during the course. Basecamp Ops does not claim any rights over participant-created work. We may ask for permission to reference your capstone project anonymously for educational purposes, but such use is never required and always optional.
5. Payment Terms
Course fees are due in full before the cohort start date unless a payment plan has been arranged in writing between you and Basecamp Ops. All fees are stated and payable in United States Dollars (USD). Accepted payment methods are communicated during the enrollment process.
If you have arranged a payment plan, all installment amounts and due dates will be documented in a separate payment agreement. Failure to make scheduled payments may result in suspension of lab access until the outstanding balance is resolved.
Refunds are available within the first two (2) weeks of a cohort. If you request a refund within this window, we will return the full course fee minus any non-recoverable administrative costs, which will not exceed 5% of the total fee. Refund requests after the two-week window will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis but are not guaranteed. To request a refund, contact us at hello@basecampops.com.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Basecamp Ops LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of our services, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, regardless of the cause of action or the theory of liability.
In no event shall the total cumulative liability of Basecamp Ops LLC to you for all claims arising from or related to these Terms or your participation in any course exceed the total amount of fees actually paid by you to Basecamp Ops for the specific course giving rise to the claim.
This limitation applies whether the alleged liability is based on contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other basis, even if Basecamp Ops has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
7. Warranty Disclaimer
All courses, lab environments, materials, and related services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Basecamp Ops makes no representations or warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee any specific career outcomes, salary increases, job placements, or certification results as a consequence of completing our courses. While our training is designed to build practical skills, individual results depend on many factors beyond our control, including your prior experience, effort, and market conditions.
We do not warrant that lab environments will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from vulnerabilities. Lab environments are educational tools and are intentionally configured to present challenging and sometimes unstable scenarios for learning purposes.
8. Termination
Either party may terminate participation with fourteen (14) days' written notice to the other party. Written notice may be sent via email to hello@basecampops.com (for notices to Basecamp Ops) or to the email address on file for your account (for notices to you).
If you leave a cohort mid-course, you may roll into a future cohort at the point where you left off, at no additional charge. This rollover option is available once per enrollment. If you need to roll over a second time, contact us to discuss your situation — we handle these on a case-by-case basis.
Basecamp Ops reserves the right to terminate your participation immediately and without prior notice if you violate these Terms, engage in conduct that disrupts the learning environment, or misuse lab infrastructure. In such cases, refunds are not provided.
9. Data Protection
We collect and process personal data in connection with your enrollment and participation in our courses. The types of data collected, how it is used, how it is stored, and your rights regarding that data are described in our Privacy Policy.
By enrolling in a course, you acknowledge that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review it carefully before providing any personal information.
10. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Colorado, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal proceedings related to these Terms that are not subject to arbitration (as described in Section 11) shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Denver, Colorado, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
11. Dispute Resolution
Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms, or the breach, termination, enforcement, interpretation, or validity thereof, shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Denver, Colorado, administered under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitration shall be conducted by a single arbitrator, and the language of the proceedings shall be English.
Before initiating arbitration, both parties agree to attempt to resolve any dispute informally by sending written notice describing the nature of the claim and the relief sought. If the dispute is not resolved within thirty (30) days of receipt of such notice, either party may then proceed to arbitration.
The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding, and judgment on the award rendered may be entered in any court having jurisdiction. Each party shall bear its own costs and attorney fees unless the arbitrator determines otherwise.
